A Celebrated Future Little did John A. Brooks know that 89 years after he created and patented the first underground pop-up sprinkler system, the company he founded would remain an innovative force in the irrigation industry. To Brooks' credit, he applied for 27 patents in those early years, including the industry's first frost-free sprinkling system. Today the John A.
